It's New Year's Eve!


So I got back home from hot yoga at 9pm and flopped into bed even though I had a ton to write about. I went to get weighed in yesterday morning. My regular Thursday morning meeting was canceled on X-Mas day so I had to find another meeting. I lost 2.4lbs over X-Mas!!!! I'm so proud of myself! Even though I didn't stick to the WW points plan 100% I did stick to it 99% and exercised like a mad woman. So that's a total loss of 10.8lbs in 7 weeks. I think that's pretty freaking fab!

Tonight is New Year's Eve and I'm sure the booze will be flowing at the parties we are going to. I'm bringing my own sugar-free redbull and vodka and cutting myself off after 5 drinks. I'm devoting 10 activity points to drinking tonight. I figure 5 drinks will get me nice and merry... anything above that is overkill. My mantra for 2009 is more is less! I've been a crazy party girl my entire twenties and now that I've just turned 30 I'm going to try something new for a change... less of everything (food, alcohol, ect, ect...).

P.S. The picture above is of me from last New Year's Eve in Bali. Clearly, as you can see from the picture, I had a lot more than 5 drinks... LOL

Is Anyone Out There?

Ok so it has been less than 24 hours... but no one has even looked at my blog!!! I'm feeling sorry for myself... but I will continue blogging until someone takes notice.

I overslept today and it's nearly 11am now. I'll still go to the gym to do some running on the treadmill. I started training to run using intervals (www.c25k.com) about 2 weeks ago and so far so good. I switch between one minute of running and one minute of walking for 20 minutes. I've been doing this for two weeks now so I think it's time to move on to two minutes running and one minute walking for 20 minutes. I'm really sore from my Moksha yoga (www.mokshayogauptown.com) class yesterday... too many sun salutations in between the usual postures but I love it. Of course I'm always the largest participant in the class but it feels good to be able to sweat it out with all the skinny folk!

We got one more holiday dinner tonight and then all the unplanned eating will be over. I hope there are some healthy options but my plan is to go to the gym and eat before the dinner to avoid being tempted to go off plan.

My first Post!




Well...

I started this blog because I was inspired by other folks on the WW boards who document their success and challenges in blog format. I've been so inspired by other peoples' journeys and hope to inspire others in return. This is my second time seriously attempting WW. The first time was in 2003/4 and I lost 70lbs by sticking with the plan and learning to love exercise. In 2004 I started working overseas and found it really hard to stick to eating on plan and exercising. As a result I gained all the weight back over the last 4 years. So here I am back to square one and ready to be a successful loser.

I joined WW this time around on Nov 11, 2008 and so far I'm down 8lbs. My Thursday meeting was canceled on Dec 25 and will be canceled again on Jan 1 so I wont weigh in for two weeks in a row . The holidays have been a bit difficult but I managed to track almost everything and my home scale says I've lost a pound... A x-mas miracle??? We'll see at my next weigh in.

I don't officially have a 'before' picture but I found one that was taken a few weeks before I started WW. I also posted more official pics that I took tonight at 8lbs down. Can you see a difference? I can't yet.
